Recommendations

Because Blijkie products consist of only fresh prey animals, without the addition of preservatives, they are only limited in shelf life outside the freezer. Keep the product in the freezer at -18°C.

Open the plastic packaging. Then place the prey in a lockable container and place it in the refrigerator (4-7°C) to allow it to defrost. Once the product has thawed, you can feed it to your pet or keep it in the fridge for up to two more days. Serve at room temperature.

Hygiene rules

Blijkie products are raw feed and naturally contain different bacteria. Your pet will not get sick from these bacteria. However, it is important to observe some hygiene regulations.

Defrost the food in a lockable container in the fridge so that it does not come into contact with your own food. Wash all the stuff that has come into contact well with hot water and dishwashing liquid. The higher the temperature, the faster the bacteria will multiply. Make sure that no flies can get near the feed; flies can spread the bacteria.
