EarthMix is a clean, safe-to-use, mineral-rich Bio-Active ready substrate that, unlike other market-available substrate species, has no non-natural particles that can lead to compaction. Having the right mix of 'ratios' between 'Mineral' and 'Organic' helps to support the vital species used in Bio-Active systems.

Arcadia Reptile EarthPro-EarthMis is full of 'Organic Goodness' and can be considered 'pre-fed'. This means that custodians can be added from day one onwards and will start to thrive. If you want to further support your custodians, you can use EarthPro-CustodianFuel.

EarthMix can be used with all species of Reptiles, Amphibians and Invertebrates, custodian ready and will sustain incredible plant growth. It is so versatile and we have successfully used it with snakes, lizards, frogs and salamanders at Arcadia Reptile HQ.

It can be sprayed regularly for those species that need a little higher humidity, or you can limit your misting to one area for species that come from a drier environment, as this will create a small area of humidity if your reptile chooses. We've seen a lot of new behaviors from the reptiles we use that we haven't seen before. For example, trinketsnakes will make tunnels and dig through them and the eye lizards will gladly dig into them. In this way it helps us to create an enriching environment for our exotic pets.

Bio-Active Guidance and Safety

Bio-Active is the term used to describe a living ecosystem. These systems have become very popular in recent years and not for nothing. Bio-Active system not only looks better for the holder, but they also provide enrichment, essential vitamins, minerals and gutflora benefits for the living inhabitants of the vivaria.

Bio-Active systems are usually planted alive and these plants need food, water, airflow and light to flourish. The use of the Arcadia Jungle Dawn LED plant growth system will greatly increase light levels and PAR within your system and promote plant growth.

A 'cleaning crew' of microfauna can be easily purchased and added to the EarthMix. These small inversions will not only help to keep the twisted and aerrated soil, but they will also convert animal waste back into assessable plant food. We propose to add 3 tubs to a 2-4' wide system on day one and then one cockpit per month.

Arcadia Reptile EarthMix has been extensively tested for safety, in fact it delivers essential full spectrum vitamins and minerals to reptiles when ingested in small amounts, as happens in the wild.
However, we need to look at the wild environment of the pets we love.
If we provide heat and light including UVB to the wild level as part of the light and shadow method, the risk of impaction is eliminated.
