Terrarium meets Aquarium-the Exo Terra Paludarium is a semi-aquatic terrarium habitat that replicates a rainforest, swamp or stream and can accommodate both water and land and plant species.
A paludarium combines the best of two world, the lower part has an extra high front bottom glass, which ensures a higher water level and increased water volume compared to ordinary terrariums.

This allows you to include a significant water section or aquarium section that allows you to keep aquatic animals and plants next to the land or terrarium area.
Part of the aquatic area may consist of a false soil to support the land section, to cover and conceal aquatic devices such as filters, pumps and water heaters and can act as a biological filter medium.

The living space of the Paludarium consists of 3 different zones:

Terrestrial Zone

Shore Zone

The shore zone or river bank is the interface between land and water.
It is inhabited by semi-aquatic reptiles and amphibians.

Water Zone

The water zone can be a stream, a pond or even a lake-home to turtles, water amphibians, fish and freshwater shrimp.
