The silicone heating cable is mainly used in terrariums for snakes or nocturnal land lizards. It diffuses heat from the ground.
The cable is used outside the terrarium and it is strongly discouraged to bring the cable in contact with the animals.
It is not recommended to use the cable over the entire surface of the terrarium, but rather over about 1/3 of the surface to always provide a heat gradient. Leave 3 cm space between the cables to avoid overheating. It is essential to use a thermostat to control the temperature.
