Exo Terra PT2461
Exo Terra PT2461
With the Exo Terra 300W Dim & Pulse Proportional Thermostat, you can create a well-controlled heating system that allows you to maintain the required temperature, such as in a desert or tropical environment.
The thermostat will also help prevent overheating and hypothermia during hot summer days or cold winter nights.
The dimming & pulse proportional function keeps the temperature at the desired set point with much greater accuracy than conventional thermostats and virtually eliminates all temperature fluctuations in the terrarium.
The Exo Terra Thermostat should be set according to the needs of the animals. Thoroughly research the optimal temperature range (POTR) for your particular reptile so that you can create the right temperature gradients in the terrarium to allow your reptiles to thermoregulate.
Always use a thermometer to check the temperature in your terrarium. Set the Exo Terra Thermostat according to the required temperature range for your pet's environment.
Red LED is lit: heating device is under voltage. Blue LED is lit: set temperature has been reached and heating device is no longer powered.
The thermostat's recessed dial prevents the temperature from accidentally changing when the device is handled. The thermostat comes with a power cord with grounded plug and socket for more safety and to allow the use of a power strip. The waterproof distance sensor can be safely used in very humid terrariums and aquatic environments.
Simply connect your Heat Mat, Heat Cable, Ceramic Heater or Light Bulb to the Exo Terra Thermostat, set the desired temperature and place the heat sensor in the desired place.
NOTE: In combination with a heat source that does not emit visible light (such as the Exo Terra Heat Mat, Heat Cable, Ceramic Heater, Infrared Basking Spot or Night Heat Lamp), the Exo Terra 300W Dim & Pulse Proportional Thermostat allows you to create a well-controlled 24-hour heating system that does not interrupt your animal's normal activity cycle, while maintaining the required temperature conditions, similar to those found in their natural environment.
NOTE: When using the Exo Terra 300W Dim & Pulse Proportional Thermostat in combination with a visible-light emitting lamp (such as Exo Terra's Intense Basking Spot, Daylight Basking Spot or Daytime Heat Lamp) to create a tanning area during the day or for daytime heating purposes, you should turn the Thermostat on at sunrise and off at sunset, either manually or with the help of a timer, to prevent the lamp from emitting light at night and thus disrupting the normal activity cycle of your animal.
