The Exo Terra Repti Glo 10.0 is more associated with a desert environment and thus a very high UVB output.
Deserts receive more direct sunlight compared to more humid regions because there are fewer clouds present, lower humidity and no plants and trees blocking the light.
Desert-dwelling species are therefore more exposed to UVB light than other reptiles.
The lamp can also be used if there is dense mesh above the terrarium to ensure UVB penetration.
Fine mesh netting can reduce UVB penetration by up to 50%.
