Pangea Gecko Diet: Growth & Breeding Formula™ is designed as a healthy combination of ingredients that delivers essential nutrients to adult breeding animals, but is also excellent for geckos at all life stages. Crested geckos still benefit from cricket feeding once or twice a week. Other species, such as the New Caledonian giant gecko (Rhacodactylus leachianus), water spit geckos (R. auriculatus) and chameleon geckos (Eurydactylodes spp.), also do extremely well with this formula from the start. In addition, Growth & Breeding Formula™ is revolutionary for species that require more calcium and insects, such as the mossy prehensile-tailed gecko (Mniarogekko chahoua). 

The main source of fat and protein in our Growth & Breeding Formula™ are crickets and larvae of the black soldier fly. The fruits used are a delicious blend of bananas and apricots that creates an excellent nutritional response like our other formulas. The higher fat content helps keep egg production strong during the breeding season.

The calcium content is near the maximum level for a complete gecko diet. It is safe and sometimes necessary to add a little calcium to the feed if your females are calcium deficient. You can also simply offer calcium in a bowl for your females to lick. For more information on calcium, see our article here.

To get the most out of this diet, fresh feed should be offered at least every other day during the breeding season, even though there will be some waste. Smaller and more frequent feedings are healthier for breeding birds than large, sparse feedings, where they tend to gorge themselves. Live sprinkled insects are optional, but can be offered once or twice a week in place of Pangea Gecko Diet: Growth & Breeding Formula™ for variety and to keep your geckos active and stimulated.
Directions for use:

Mix 1 part powder with 2.5 parts water and adjust to achieve the desired consistency. Prepared mix is good for up to 7 days if refrigerated. Opened dry mix is good for 6 months at room temperature or 1 year if refrigerated. Unopened food is best for 12 months (see expiry date). Occasional insect food is recommended but optional.

Life stages:

Growth: Feed 3-4 times a week alternating with insect feeds.
Breeding: Feed at least 4-5 days a week alternating with insect food.

Notes:

This mix tends to stick to tails and toes as your gecko crawls through it. This can be easily resolved with a rinse or sauna.
Most geckos will not clean their bowl every time as with lower-fat formulas.
This food has a shorter shelf life to ensure maximum protein and vitamin content.
